Today I completed the initial update of the mosaic section of my site. If you haven’t done so, you should check it out. It’s pretty epic. I am still at a loss to understand how I accumulated 17 mosaics. I never thought I’d build 2 or 3, but 17? Holy crap, Batman! I also noticed that I have the bricks for a lot of them and haven’t built them. How lazy is that?
But I learned a couple things while making these pages. First, it’s a lot easier to build website stuff like that while going through the process of building each model. Putting together 17 pages all at once was a marathon. But it’s done and will be easy to add to in the future. Second, watch your file size and type. If you save an image as a bitmap, it could be upwards of 2-3 MB. But save it as a jpeg or png, it’ll be like 20kB for the same size and quality of image (at least for our purposes here). Saves a lot of loading time and such. Three, don’t be a lazy ass and not build your mocs. That’s not fun. I hated having to say that as I built each page. “We’ll see when I finally get them built” is a lame way to end each page.
Anyway, the more I build on this site, the more I enjoy it. I have a lot of cool and original hobbies. I hope that others can enjoy them as much as I do. Live Long and Prosper.
