Here’s some detail on my Star Wars M&M Lego mosaic. Hopefully I’ll get to build it someday!

Starting Images

If you search around on the interwebs, you’ll find some pictures of this.  However, it seems to be a somewhat rare deal.  I believe it was a promo thing for the release of Episode 2 or 3?  Who knows.  I found images on the internet and some YouTube videos like this one by BrickTsar and this one by BrickTsar, but it was hard to finds a nice enough picture to copy.  I had to kinda piece it together from several different sources.

Importing to MLCad

I skipped the pixelation process this time as it was already done for me by Lego.  I imported it into MLCad, one 1×1 stud at a time and then consolidated the bricks into larger pieces to save money on construction.  

This takes 4,744 pieces to build and is 14,308 studs. It is 3′-9.625″′ (116 cm) x 2′-6.625″ (78 cm).

Building

This page was updated on 1/14/2022 and the MLCad model was finished on 9/9/2020. I currently have none of the bricks to build this model.  We’ll see how long it takes me to build it!!
